Meet the Leadership Team
Coleman Lay
Owner, Chief Operating Officer
Coleman joined LAY Construction in 2015 and has been involved in all aspects of the business, including project management, estimating, operations, and finance. Coleman earned his Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University’s College of Architecture, Design and Construction. Coleman is active in NAIOP and is a member of The Church of Eleven 22. Florida Contractors license CBC1262908.
Gene McCutcheon
PRESIDENT
Gene joined LAY Construction in 1991 and has made significant contributions to the success of the organization by building a team of skilled professionals. Gene has worked in the building construction industry for over 40 years.
Jake Chamberlin
VICE PRESIDENT
Jake joined LAY Construction in 2013 and was promoted to vice president in 2015. Jake has been instrumental in the company's business development, marketing, and client services capabilities.
C.O. Spurway
Controller
C.O. joined LAY Construction in 2021 to lead the Finance and Administrative side of the Company. He has over 40 years of construction experience, starting out as a bricklayer’s laborer. He is a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science – Accounting Major degree. C.O. has experience with general contracting, construction management and almost all the trades in the industry. He is passionate about his Christian faith!
LAY Construction's attention to detail and management of all subcontractors and work site personnel was outstanding.
